London Olympic Park Observation
ロンドンオリンピックの閉会後、オリンピックパークが地元の人たちによってどのように使われているかを調査した写真シリーズ。ロンドンのオリンピックパークは、かつて工業地帯だった土地の上に、何トンもの土、何百本もの木や植物を持ち込んで建設されました。オリンピック閉会から3年後、完全に人工的に作られたこのランドスケープを訪れてみると、いたる所に、人による「けもの道」が残されていました。あるものは景色を見渡そうと、幾人もの人が何度も踏み歩いた近道。あるものは、非公式のルート。あるものは子供の遊び場。近隣住民が自発的に作り出したこの新しい小道は、オリンピックパークという新しい都市機能の設置とローカライゼーションの過程を、シンボリックに体現したものとも言えます。
This investigatory photo series examines the changes made to London's Olympic Park by local residents after the games ended. The park, built on a former industrial site, was transformed with the addition of soil and vegetation to create a fabricated landscape. Three years after the Olympics, observations reveal the emergence of small paths on grassy fields. These paths, sometimes created as shortcuts or unofficial routes, reflect the way people use and interact with the park, adapting it to their needs and creating new spaces for activities and socialization. This spontaneous reshaping of the landscape highlights the ongoing process of urban development and community engagement.
